Rocky was taken away from his owners along with another horse because the authorities deemed it necessary due to neglect of wounds and feed shortage.
As you can see Rocky had some injuries on his neck and hoof that were infected with flies, maggots and were severely infected. After multiple, multiple surgeries the sores were healed. Constant changing of bandages on the hoof by the volunteers taking care of him to keep new flies and dirt out was an ongoing event for months. Rocky wore a tshirt around his chest to help keep that area free from bugs.
His weight was regained and today he resides with a family who uses him for light riding with their kids.
